Operation Green to Gold: A Legacy of Service and Advocacy
Operation Green to Gold is a donation initiative created by Kathryn and Michael Martin, proud parents of Johnathan, and both Veterans who honorably served a combined 40 consecutive years in the United States Army. For 15 of those years, Johnathan and his siblings stood right alongside them, embracing the spirit of resilience and dedication.
The name “Green to Gold” carries deep meaning: the green represents the iconic Army uniforms worn with pride throughout their service, while the gold symbolizes their current battle against childhood cancer. This transition from green to gold reflects their shift from Army Soldiers to passionate Cancer Advocates, honoring Johnathan’s legacy through academics, arts, volunteering, and community service.
Through Operation Green to Gold, Kathryn and Michael are calling others to join them in the fight to pound out cancer and make a lasting difference.
